Boathouse

Since the early part of the 20 century, when the Granliden Hotel's motor launch the "Greycourt" plied the waters of Gardner Bay, boating, swimming and enjoying the sandy beach have been highlights of summer relaxation.  It is as true today as it was a century ago, but the dock no longer has daily visits from the Woodsum Steamship Company.  Today, slips and moorings provide safe anchorage for almost 50 pleasure craft owned by Granliden members.  The original boathouse was renovated and currently houses restrooms and lockers on the first floor and  a large function room on the second. The gently sloping sandy beach is great for swimming and it is backed by a large lawn and parking area.  In addition to in-water boat space, there are also racks for canoes, kayaks and small sail boats. The upper level of the boathouse is available to rent to members for small private functions between Memorial Day and Columbus Day. Forms and information can be found in the Members Only section.
